About 135 works competed in the 21st National Meeting of Video Artists in Havana Cuba
Out of all these works, 48 were made by students of the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) and the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA) whereas 27 works were produced by production companies like Mundo Latino, the Animation Studios of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), Serrana Television and others. In this competitive event, the best works were recognized in each category with the Vitral Prize.

The event is organized every year by the Movimiento Nacional de Video (National Video Movement of Cuba) which is a non profit cultural association that gathers all Cuban professionals involved in production, promotion, teaching, research, training, marketing and other activities of the audiovisual world.

Among the main objectives of this organization are worth to highlight “to work in favor of the integral development and social use of the audiovisual among the different social sectors; to share and know the experiences in the audiovisual world at the national and international levels; to work in favor of the promotion of the audiovisual and training at all levels and to develop and consolidate the use of the audiovisual in the popular education.”

Apart from the exhibition of audiovisuals, four conferences were scheduled in this 21st edition. These are “La idea en el documental” by Guillermo Centeno; “Perspectivas de la postproduccion digital” by Emilio del Cañal; “Actualización en producción de audiovisuales” by Santiago Llapar and “Video para cine y cine editado en video” by Pedro Suárez.
