Important artist, such as Adigio Benitez, Alfredo Sosabravo, Zaida del Río, Alicia Leal, Manuel Mendive and Pedro Pablo Oliva among many others were present at the event. For many of the artists the meeting was the ideal place to take the Rapto de las Mulatas (image) and recreate it again, 70 years after its creation, from another perspective.

Moraima Clavijo, director of the National Arts Museum, an institution that lend the original piece, gave a speech at the ceremony, in which had the presence of most of the represented creators. At the ceremony was showed the documentary El rapto…en la pupila made by Juan Carlos Fernández.

Nelson Dominguez, one of the called creators, commented on the exhibition that will be opened until the end of July: “We all have something to do with Carlos Enriquez, because he was a great painter, a writer, a man of culture, a bohemian man. The exhibition is very specials because it gives a plural vision of a very important work for our culture”.

The V Colloquium Carlos Enriquez and the avant-garde, transcendence and Cuban expressions, organized by the Museum Huron Azul, is having nowadays the analysis of the legacy of the artist.
