Istanbul managed to make a gap in the European tour of the greatest jazz piano players from our country, attracted by a city and a public who greeted wonderfully the repertoire of deep Cuban reminiscences.

Chucho Valdés and his group left Spain for a few hours, where they are performing together with the singer Pablo Milanés, their last recording, moved through a very special impulse.

I like Istanbul a lot. I have been here several times and its public offers huge warmth and support to the artist, that is why I always like to come back, he added.

The concert presented two parts, a more intimate and syncopated one, in which people were able to enjoy the artistic quality of Rubalcaba, the second one through the hands of Chucho Valdés, vibrating and moving, under a Cuban rhythm, where Mayra Caridad Valdés showed her prodigious voice.

The ending, improvised and claimed by a large public ovation, brought together the four hands from the piano players in a piece which will be hard to forget by the public who filled the room of Is Sanat.

A fast trip, which has been worth it, a magic concert, declared Chucho Valdés at the end. I think we have lived through a precious moment, because there has been huge complicity between the public and the musicians, he remarked. For me it has been like an injection that animates your spirit in order to carry on. I think it is the best that has happened to mi over the last few years.

Greatly pleased by the answer of the spectators, the Cuban piano player had no doubt in assuring that he had felt as if he had held the concert in Havana, it has been the same, according to how good this was here.
