The number of ambulances to assist mobile and pre-hospital emergencies will increase to 264, Granma newspaper reported on Wednesday. The country is equipping the vehicles with monitors to watch over heart function, respirators, and other components.
This year, 176 ambulances will be assigned to the eastern provinces, 93 of them for mountainous areas and distant zones, and the rest to transport patients with doctor's appointments or tests in medical centers.
