Cuban expert Yamir Pellegrino Rodriguez Nominated for Nobel Prize in Gastronomic Literature
Pellegrino Rodriguez, Director of the Food and Beverages Department at the Habana Libre Tryp hotel in the Cuban capital, announced that this award will be granted in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 10, with the presence of the 12 candidates to obtain the "Gourmand World Cookbooks Award."

For the first time, this award will join the ceremony of the Literature Nobel Prizes in the European nation, where the so-called "Gourmand Nobel", considered as the Nobel of Gastronomic Literature, will be granted.

Pellegrino, who is also the President of the Cuban Sommeliers Club, will be the only representative from Latin America and the Third World at the ceremony.

Pellegrino won on two consecutive years - 2005 and 2006 - the top awards in the culinary category, at regional and world levels, with his books 'Mi pasion Gourmet (My Gourmet Passion) and 'Cono100do el vino (Learning about Wine).

This annual contest is called by the Le Cordon Bleu University of France, the most prestigious world university in the culinary art.
