Aldo del Río nominated to Cubadisco 2008
The prominent singer, songwriter and tres player Aldo del Río, was nominated in the category of traditional music for his phonogram Soy como soy.

Launched by Colibrí Record Company, the album was produced by Adolfo Costales, a very experienced professional in this kind of activity.

Soy como soy has 13 tracks, mainly written by him, among them ballad, bolero, guaracha and son. Likewise the album includes some versions of recognized authors like Pedro Junco.

Aldo del Río will give a concert together with Omara Portuondo and Teté Caturla within the framework of Cubadisco, and will participate with Teté in a tribute to Manuel "Puntillita" Licea, member of the project Buena Vista Social Club, who passed away in 2000.

The sales of the phonogram have skyrocketed in Spain, Brazil, Canada and United States. Cubadisco Festival is celebrated in the Island since 1997 and its main goal is to recognize and stimulate the quality of Cuban record production, and contribute to its promotion and diffusion.
