Russian Ambassador Andréi Dmitriev was presented the Solidarity Award, granted by the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, for his outstanding work to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Russia.
Dmitriev was presented the award by Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Pérez.
At the event, Dmitriev said,«Cuba is a very special country, closely related to the Russian peoples mentality.»
Andréi Dmitriev also commented that Cuba «had decisively influenced (his) training as a human being and as a professional (...). I would like to thank Cuba for everything it has done for me.»
