During the encounter there was also screened a program from the Cuban television from 1961, in which the Caribbean intellectual interviewed the Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet during his visit to Havana.

Other Latin American poets participated together with him in an encounter organized by the municipal government in collaboration with other cultural entities from the locality.

The Cuban poet and narrator has also planned a conference at the Istambul University, in which he will deal with the topic of culture and poetry in Cuba, as well as different encounters during the weekend with Turkish editors, intellectuals and writers.

Pablo Armando Fernández is a founding member of the UNEAC and he has received important recognitions for his intellectual work, among them the National Literature Award, the highest distinction for a writer in Cuba, as well as the Distinction for National Culture.
