Sponsored by this organization and the Cubarte web site, the forum titled "UNEAC in Congress," was an opportunity for participants from several countries and Cuba to exchange questions and opinions on what an event of this nature should represent ten years after its previous edition.

While giving an in-depth explanation of the concept of revolutionary culture that should prevail, writer Edel Morales said culture should be based on "a radical and liberating perspective, in the spirit of combining artistic creation and revolution."

Several participants expressed their concerns on how the island's artistic and intellectual vanguard could influence the confrontation against poor taste, aggressiveness, bad manners and banality seen in certain areas of Cuban society.

From Sancti-Spiritus, poet Alberto Sicilia said the upcoming Congress is of the utmost importance because of the participation of delegates from all parts of the country. "It's very important to listen to the different opinions and to have a larger representation of the provinces on the organization's board of directors."

Questions came in on the forum from abroad on specific aspects of the island's cultural policy with respect to the promotion of artistic and literary works and on the possibilities offered to new talents to train and express themselves.
