The community culture group Korimacao, from the municipality of Cienaga de Zapata in Central Matanzas province, is currently on a tour of several Venezuelan villages, as part of the project Nuestras Raíces (Our Roots) promoted by the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas, ALBA. Directed by renowned actor Manuel Porto, the group is performing the show Playa Girón (Bay of Pigs), which combines music, dance and theatre to denounce the 1961 U.S. military aggression against Cuba.

During their stay in Venezuela, the Cuban artists are performing in several villages of the state of Sucre. They will close their presentations in Cumaná, where they are to meet with local artists.

Founded 15 years ago, Korimacao develops an intense activity in favor of popular culture within the communities settled in Cubas largest swamp region.
