The Ministry of Agriculture sent a congratulation message to this eastern province of Las Tunas in recognition for the recovery capacity shown in the horticultural production, after the serious damages caused by the recent floods, caused by the tropical storm Noel, last October.

This was made public by engineer Nelso Companioni, technical secretary of the National Group of the Urban Agriculture, when concluding the last control visit to the producers of the 27 routines that are assisted by that institution, to stimulate the social consumption of vegetables and proteins.

Campanioni highlighted the reactivation of the tracks for the postures and nurseries, because the horticultural products, that will be sold in the winter, disappeared after the meteorological phenomenon.

"Nevertheless, the farmers from Las Tunas made an excellent effort in all the municipalities to overcome the situation and there are already sowings and diversity of products", Nelso Campanioni emphasized.

The National Group of the Urban Agriculture concluded its visit to this territory, about 670 kilometers to the east of Havana, during which its members evaluated 217 routines that received a fine qualification for the province and its eight municipalities.

In this visit the specialists in Urban Agriculture decided to grant the category of National Excellency to the Park of Fair 26 de Julio, after verifying the contributions that it makes to the country with its commercialization system at moderate prices that in its edition 100 have already sold more than 57 million pesos in national currency.
