Young Mexican film director Diego Luna announced his participation in the 29th International Festival of the New Latin American Cinema, to be held in Havana December 4th-14th, with 130 films on exhibit.

The talented creator and actor made the announcement in an interview with Mexican television in London, where he is currently participating at the festival of the British capital, with the presentation of his documentary on the life of ex- professional boxer Jorge C. Chávez.

The protagonist of feature films like Y tu mama también and Nicotina said this introspective glance into the life of Chávez represents a tribute to great idols of Mexican sports history and to that great boxer in particular.

Mexico will be among the 22 short-length films of fiction, as well as in the line of documentaries and 21 proposals of the Latin American panorama at the annual Havana Cinema Festival, with productions like Mujeres en el acto, by Gabriel Retes.
