Co-ordinator of the project Claudetta Williams-Yearde says the common eye problem can be corrected and urged parents to contact their local health centre for information on the programme.

The Eye Care Co-ordinator said her agency also partners with the Jamaica Society for the Blind and the Salvation Army.

She said parents can also check with the Health department to obtain further information as to when the professionals will be visiting to carry out screening.

Mrs. Williams-Yearde said the Health Ministry has streamlined the process for screening patients before they travel to Cuba for eye-surgeries under the programme.
