Cuba and Peru specialists publish a book on brain cancer

Cuban and Peruvian specialists have published the book "Otra opcion contra el cancer de cerebro" ("Another choice against brain cancer"), key reference material of for neurosurgeons.
The book, edited in Peru and launched in the Cuban eastern province of Holguin, includes articles on neurosurgery by experts from both nations, reported the Ahora online newspaper.
The near-200-pages work describes a technique known as Brachy Therapy,
based on the placing of radioactive sources in the brain tumor so that the high radiation does not affect nearby organs.
Both the book and a CD on the same topic will be available shortly in all school of medicine and medical institutions throughout the island.
