Zanzibar President in Cuba

Karume s visit is an expression of the will of the governments of Cuba and Tanzania to continue fostering and broadening bilateral historic ties of friendship and cooperation, Granma newspaper reported.
The Zanzibar statesman s agenda includes meeting with Cuba s Council of State Vice President Esteban Lazo and other leaders from the Cuban government, as well as visiting sites of the country s educational, scientific and economic interest.
Zanzibar, with 2,500 sq. km territory and about 982,000 inhabitants, is a semiautonomous country, part of the United Republic of Tanzania.
