World War Correspondents meet in Cuba

The 5th World Meeting of War Correspondents is winding up in this capital on Friday, after two days of exchanging experiences on the role of press informing military conflicts.
Sponsored by the Union of Cuban Journalists, the event discussed issues like lies in the media, the press as a war weapon, internet views on war and possible stages for new conflicts in the world, among others.
At least 76 world reporters have died in Iraq, of them 55 from that Arab country, who had reported to the world details of the invasion and the people s resistance to the occupation troops.
On Thursday, the event screened the Venezuelan documental "Libano: las huellas del imperio", (Lebanon, Footprints of the Empire) which caused great impact for being an overwhelming denouncement of the Israeli massacre.
