The eastern Cuban province of Granma will have a website to promote the cultural and historic assets of the region.

Experts noted that the province holds nearly 50 percent of the country's historic sites, thus the importance of such initiative.

Designed by experts from the Cuban Association of Social Communicators in Granma, the website will be a world reference on national identity and the wars of independence that broke out in the province in October 1868.

The website will host images and descriptions of Granma's 37 museums, the assets they treasure and events scheduled in each of them, as well as information on commemorative buildings.

The province has 625 relevant sites, including 19 National Monuments and the Granma Landing National Park, which was declared Humankind Heritage due to its marine terraces a
nd archeological trails.
