Cuba held talks with Vietnam stressing exchange beyond agriculture, livestock and constructions to bilateral cooperation in biotechnology.

Ramon Ripoll, Cuban deputy minister for Foreign Investment and Cooperation, leads a delegation to the 24th Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Technical-Scientific Cooperation.

Ripoll held talks with Le Huan Qua, president of the Popular Council of Ho Chi Minh City, on building here a biotechnology center that Cuba will help design, build and train its staff.

Ripoll and the delegation will travel Thursday to Hanoi to inaugurate the Joint Intergovernmental Commission that will focus on economy, commerce, science, technology and agriculture.

It will also involve construction, the biotechnology industry, computers, tourism and education.

President Nguyen Minh Triet said it was important to take advantage of friendship and cooperation to boost exchange in bio-pharmacy, electronics, industry and construction materials.
