International Counselor on Early Infancy, Robert Myers, said the case of Cuba is very remarkable and Chile is also in on the right track, reports PL news agency.Myer also considered very fruitful the debate on the necessity of linking the children's nutrition and health programs with their psychological and social development.
He stressed the role of the cooperation between state institutions and the family in the children's development during their first years.

Regarding this point, educator Maria Teresa Burke recalled that Cuba has implemented a program since 1992 that combines familial with community education.

Burke noted that this program, which includes 99.5% of children across the island, is sponsored by a number of state institutions and social organizations, with the support of UNICEF.
