Experts in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba are introducing new technologies in agriculture to increase production.
Some 160 covered farming houses have been built to boost food production in the province.
According to the experts, that technique guarantees high yield, in addition to protecting the crops from diseases, plagues and the rays of sunlight.
Besides, as no chemical fertilizers are used, the vegetables produced are healthier than those obtained through conventional methods.
The construction of the seedbeds that will supply the farming houses is another priority, as these facilities will be operational all year around.
