March of 300,000 saturday in Havana

About 300,000 people from Havana will stage a rally on Saturday, December 2, in front of the Jose Marti National Monument at the Revolution Square, local press reported Thursday.
"The demonstration will express unity among the Communist Party, the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and the people," Pedro Saez, member of the Political Board and first secretary of Havana s Communist Party, told Granma newspaper today.
The activity marks the climax of the political act and military parade on occasion of the 50th anniversary of Granma Yacht landing, the FAR Day and Cuban President Fidel Castro s 80th birthday.
"The December 2 feat in Havana will be a singular moment so that friends of the Revolution prove once more their strength to ensure conquests and begin new victories," concluded Saez.
