Lat Am rice experts specialize in Cuba

Experts from Nicaragua, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Colombia and Cuba are participants of the International Rice Improvement Workshop (GRUMEGA) Wednesday in session in this Cuban province.
The event, sponsored by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), was inaugurated in Rancho Hatuey Motel, 350 kilometers, in the Eastern part of Havana.
This course, which will go until November 10, is headed to develop strategies in the interests of more productive and resistant to plagues and diseases varieties.
Agriculture Sciences Dr. Ruben Caraballo, Cuba-FAO regional project coordinator, said several proposals are on study, headed to increase this cereal production, as well as the interchange and technological collaboration.
