Romerías de Mayo
Young people artists from around 25 countries will participate in the fourteenth edition of Romerias de Mayo, to happen May 2-8, event coordinators announced Wednesday.

Hermanos Saiz Association AHS (organization heading the event) President Luis Morlote disclosed that around 300 amateurs will meet in Holguin (western part of the isle), its traditional venue.

Dances typical from the region, folk singers, theater and classic works will be included in "Fiesta de los abrazos" section, with the presence of foreign artists and which will constitute "a space for interchange between peoples," he added.

Rap, folk singer, rock and fusion genres will be presented in the music event, according to AHS leaders, "it will take place a dialogue between tradition, transition and sonorous modernity."

Around ten theater companies and seven dance groups will represent scenic arts.

Book presentations, workshops, presentations, and fine arts expositions will complement the program.
