Giraldo Cordova Cardin International Boxing Tournament
Boxing rings are ready in Villa Clara Province, east of Havana, to welcome Friday the 38th series of the Giraldo Cordova Cardin International Boxing Tournament.

The opening gala was held Thursday in the Leoncio Vidal square, in the capital city Santa Clara, while the matches take place every evening until May 30 at the Amistad sports facility.

An excellent tournament is foreseen including the achievement of one hundred victories in a row by Cuba's world champ Guillermo Rigondeaux.

The list of countries that have confirmed their participation in the biennial event includes Kazakhstan, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Angola, the Seychelles Islands, and Trinidad and Tobago. A selection of Cuba's best boxers grouped in A and B Teams will also be going for the prizes.
