he largest exhibit area in the island, Expocuba, inaugurated a sample marking the 40th anniversary of the Argentinean-Cuban-Guerrilla Fighter Ernesto Che Guevara's death occurred in Bolivia, October 9th, 1967.

Photos of his life and work are on display in the Che desde siempre Salon, whose inaugurating strip was cut off last week Saturday by his daughter Aleida Guevara and Brigade General Harry Villegas, National Vice-president of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution.

The institution director Pedro Abreu said that apart from showing the country's major achievements, Expocuba will contribute to raise the voice in support of the Cuban Five anti-terrorists jailed in the United States since 1998.

Gerardo Hernández, René González, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino and Fernando González face severe imprisonment terms in the northern country ranging from 15 years to double life sentence.

The Five, as they are known among international campaigns for their freedom, were convicted for not having been registered as foreign agents and being involved in spy conspiracy among other charges.

However, a big solidarity movement extended to over 80 countries along with the lawyers of Gerardo, René, Antonio, Ramón and Fernando sustained they managed to get infiltrated into south-Florida-based exile groupings in order to avoid from there terrorist attacks against Cuba.

Abreu reported at the health website they exhibit a campaign hospital similar to those used by the internationalist Cuban medical mission Henry Reeve that travelled to Paquistán to help the people following the last devastating earthquake in that nation.

During the ceremony an Entertainment Park was built up in collaboration with China at a cost of 3 397 000 pesos (some $ 3 000 023 dollars).

Usually visited from Wednesday to Sunday by nationals and foreigners, Expocuba - inaugurated on January, 1989 - is the venue of Havana International Fair, one of the largest in Latin America.
