Emotional meeting between Evo and Fidel

President Fidel Castro Ruz received Evo Morales Ayma, president of the sister republic of Bolivia, who is carrying out an intense and productive working visit to our country.

For almost three hours, the two leaders shared a fraternal and warm meeting in which they discussed the progress of joint cooperation programs such as Operation Miracle, through which almost 90,000 patients in Bolivia have received operations to restore their eyesight. They also conversed on the advances towards integration through ALBA-TCP and topics linked to the international situation.

Prior to this, President Evo Morales met with General of the Army Raúl Castro Ruz, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, with whom he also shared a friendly and supportive encounter and discussed issues of significant interest for our nations.

Accompanying Raúl were comrades Carlos Lage Dávila, vice president of the Council of State; Fernando Remírez de Estenoz, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party; Foreign Minister Felipe Pérez Roque; and Rafael Daussá Céspedes, Cuban ambassador in Bolivia.
