Cuban Grandmaster Lazaro Bruzon and Spain's I.M. Manuel Perez drew after 30 moves in the first game of the final round of the First Ibero-American Chess Championship, which is scheduled to conclude on Saturday in the Spanish city of Huelva.

On Saturday, Bruzon (2648)will have the advantage of playing with whites, something which favors his aggressive style; however, a hard opposition by the local rival must not be dismissed.

According to the Spanish sports press I.M Manuel Perez has been the revelation figure of this tournament.

If the final match ends in a draw, there will be a series of rapid games. In case the players finish tied after the quick games, the winner will be chosen through the Armageddon system.

The Armageddon System of deciding a winner is an additional game, which is played in case that the rapid (25 minutes) and the blitz games (5 minutes) end in draw. In the Armageddon game the whites have six minutes while the black are only granted five. If the tie persists, the player with the blacks"a decision made by drawing a lot"would be chosen as the champion.

The other Cuban taking part in this even is G.M. Reynaldo Vera, who is fighting for a position between the 9th and the 24th . On Friday he drew with Brazil's Henrique Mecking.

The First Ibero-American Chess Tournament, which is being contested in the Las Mercedes convent in Huelva, Spain, began on November 10 with the participation of 24 chess players from 16 nations.
