The Cuban women's table tennis team have classified for the 15th Pan American Games, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 13 to 29, one of the two teams from Latin America attending the regional event.

The 3-member team, made up by the national champions Glendis Gonzalez, Anisleivis Bereau and the world bronze medallist, Heylin Trujillo, assured their ticket to the Pan-Am at the 17th Latin American Championship underway in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The Cuban team beat Puerto Rico 3-2 in the first round of the competition and beat Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 in the eliminatory.

The team and individual match competition wraps up on Saturday to give way to the doubles play in both male and female categories.
