Third National Television Festival

Certainty of progress and development is the vogue of the Third National Television Festival, declared president of Cuban Institute of Radio and Television Ernesto Lopez at the opening of the event.

Beginning with the social role of Cuban television as generator of culture, extender of the information spectrum and satisfier of the audience constitutes the most important challenges for sector workers.

According to Lopez, the necessary changes demand a tighter allegiance to related entities, such as the Ministries of Culture and Computing, the National Journalists Union and the Hermanos Saiz Association with which it maintains close collaboration.

To increase the aesthetic quality of programming and to foster exchange and reflection on the communication media, the event stands as the most important national meeting of sector creators.

The present edition includes 160 nominated works, of which 90 are in the fiction genre.

Cuban audiovisual experts will converge at the theoretical events to be centered on television script, eroticism and culture on the small screen.

The jury will confer the corresponding prizes on January 19 and the closing will take place at the National Theater on January 21.
