Yetzabel Arias
Cuban singer Yetzabel Arias Fernandez won the International Baroque Singing Contest of Chimay, Belgium that ended recently, according to information provided to Prensa Latina by persons close to the artist.

The awards won by Arias were the First Prize, the Public Prize and the Printemps des Arts of Nantes award that allows her to present a concert in the next edition of these baroque music french language festival together with other prestigious performers.

Yetzabel Arias Fernández, was born in Havana, and in 1993 she obtained the Choirs Conductor diploma at the Amadeo Roldan conservatory and in the year 2000 she achieved the laureate in the singing specialty at the Higher Institute of Arts ( ISA ).

She also continued her studies at the International Music Academy of Milan, the Laboratory of Italian Music of the 17th Century and attended the Singing class of Master Vincenzo Manno.

Among her most relevant performances are the Cycle of J.S. Bach Profanes Cantatas at the Milan Verdi Auditorium with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra of Turin and with the Ensemble I solisti della Scala di Milano.

She also performed the Motete Exultate Jubilate and the Mozart Requiem,as well as Haydn's Stabat Mater, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Vivaldi's Magnificat, and Henry Purcell's operas The Fairy Queen and Dido and Eneas.
