Delia Vera
Cuban Professor Delia Vera Medina, general coordinator of the National Network of Schools associated to UNESCO, Monday appears in a book that deals with women who have contributed with that organization, established 60 years ago.

In the book appears celebrities like Rigoberta Menchu (1991 Nobel Peace Prize), Italian actress Claudia Cardinale and Princess Firyal, from Jordan, goodwill ambassador since 1992.

School Plan Network, chaired by Vera, began working in 1953 and is made up of 7,900 school centers from 176 countries, whose main objective is to work in favor of an education of good quality.

Those teaching institutions, explained Vera in an interview with Juventud Rebelde, develop activities that allow enriching knowledge by means of using teaching methods in an interchange among children, professors, and cultural institutions.

Happy for the recognition, she confirmed that the award does not belong to her, but to schools and to the people that have worked for a long time with great effort and dedication.
