Over 130,000 primary and high school students of three Cuban provinces are benefiting from learning with the Basic School Digital Dictionary.

That scientific work, developed by the Center of Applied Linguistic in Santiago de Cuba, is being generalized in the education system, to developing correct spelling and good usage of the Spanish language.

The director of the center, Doctor Leonel Ruiz, said that the methodology of the spelling program is on compact disks at schools in Havana city, Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo.

The use of interactive resources with the student or teacher, supported by illustrations and other attractive means for learning, are other advantages joined to this digital work.

Ruiz recalled that this project, whose main author is researcher Eloina Miyares, had a printed publication, while its digitalization was achieved in collaboration with the University of the Basque country.
