Domínguez, who places 30th in the world ranking of the International Chess Federation with an ELO rating of 2678 points, finished the event with 11.5 points in 13 rounds as a result of 10 victories and three draws.

In the meantime, in women's, Arribas also ended the competition undefeated with 10.5 units as a results of eight victories and five draws.

The third ticket for the world event later this year was for Cuban GM Lázaro Bruzón, who finished behind Domínguez, also unbeaten with 11 points as a result of nine wins and four draws.

The other Cuban participant in the event, GM Sulennis Piña, placed third among women with 9.5 units.
