Cubadisco 2007 music theory forum

A theoretical symposium, sponsored by the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music, will open on Monday as part of the program of the international fair Cubadisco 2007, which will close on May 27.
Sources from the organizing committee told Prensa Latina that the symposium will consist of the First International Meeting on the Necessary Song, the First Meeting of Alternative Recording Companies, Music and Cinema, Cuban Musicology, the Musical Industry, and Folkloric Music in Latin America.
The theoretical sessions will be held at the Habana Libre Hotel and be attended by dozens of researchers, musicians and experts from all five continents.
Venezuela is the guest country at Cubadisco 2007, which is dedicated to the relationship between music and cinema.
