Cuba, World Third in Youth Philately

The annual award ceremony of the Cuban Philately Federation at the Jose Marti Monument chose Daniel Montes Young Philatelist of the Year after winning the Grand Prix of the World Expo Malaga 2006.
His collection "Cuba Colonial" also earned the grand prix at the Havana 2006 and Granada 2006 displays, special mention in Washington and Belgium and made him the Latin American with the highest awards in the history of philately.
Along Montes, excel Carlos Carguera (Primeros Vuelos de Cuba) and Adrian Fernandez also winners of national and international awards.
Such results make them rank among the world's top ten philatelists, and Montes is the leader.
FFC President Jose Raul Lorenzo said that young Cuban philatelists help Cuba show maturity and quality at events at home and the US, Spain and Belgium, making Cuba a world leader.
