Cuba swept to victory at the 1st Centro-American and Caribbean Shooting Championship that took place in the capital of Guatemala, winning 13 gold medals, five silvers and three bronzes.

Following the Cuban team in the podium were Guatemala in second place (1-3-7) and El Salvador (0-5-4) third.

The Cubans only failed for the rifle title, in which Guatemalan Gustavo Flores took the lead.

The winner of the standard rifle prone position male category was Cuban Reinier Estupinan with 690.9 points, followed by the Virgin Islands' Ned Gerard(686.7) and Guatemala's Sergio Davila (684.7).

The first two places in rapid fire pistol for men were taken by Cubans Leuris Pupo (781.5) and Juan Francisco Perez (756.0), while Julio Tirso Molina (748.5) from the host country finished third. Likewise, in the women Eglys Cruz (Cuba), Delvis Hernandez (Cuba) and Veronica Rivas (El Salvador), led the category for 3 X 20 rifle.

Overall, Cuba was the champion of the competition for teams scoring 1,166 points; El Salvador (1, 157) came next and Guatemala (1 144), ended up third.
