Yanet Casado and Raciel Ger, students from the Information Sciences University (UCI, in Spanish), are the two representatives of that center to attend the event due to their original responses to a question by the International Telecommunication Union.
Papers by Casado and Ger were chosen as part of a UCI contest and they stood out for their originality on their points of view among 600 contestants.
According to the source, those works also reflect Cuba's experiences and represent an acknowledgement of the island's effort to achieve an information society for everyone.
The aim of the Hong Kong meeting, a continuity of the World Summit for the UN Information Society, is to learn of international youth opinions and experiences on new technologies, Juventud Rebelde daily stated.
In the meeting, the two Cubans will have the opportunity to present their points of view, exchange with other participants and debate the Declaration and Action Plan.
