Soccer's Caribbean Cup

The final phase of soccer's Caribbean Cup, for which Cuba was the first to qualify, will take place from Jan. 12 to Jan. 23 in Trinidad and Tobago's capital, Port of Spain, Cuban newspaper "Granma" said on Monday.

In January's third and final round Cuba will play a group phase with Guadeloupe, Guayana and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Guyana won all three of its qualification games.

The other group contains host Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Martinique. The final place will be decided by a play-off series between Haiti, Bermuda and the Dominican Republic.

The top two teams from each group will play the final and will also receive a ticked for the June 6 to June 24 Gold Cup in the United States, the top soccer competition for the region of North America, Central America and the Caribbeans.
