Artists from nine countries will attend the 9th International Storyteller Festival on May 7-12, with Asia and Africa as guests of honor.

Elvia Perez Napoles, president of Contarte, said the event will gather actors and directors from Brazil, Germany, Canada, Colombia, Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico and Vietnam.

Founded in 1998, the 2007 edition starts with talks on the latest trends in Latin America includes a youth contest with 22 contenders from Colombia, Mexico and Cuba.

In addition to conferences, there will be an arts display and events for children with three works devoted to Asia and Africa.
