Cuba re-elected at International Amateur Boxing Association

Cuba was elected chair of the Americas Bureau of the International Amateur Boxing Association and ratified as one of the organizations vice-presidents.
The decision was made during the organizations latest congress held in the Dominican Republic, in which Cuban Jorge Guzman was elected to the regional posts, said Associations general secretary Alfredo Casaña in conversation with ACN News Agency.
The re-election of Cuba is a recognition of the prestige of Cuban boxing in the world, said Casaña who stressed the congress' opposition to any relation to professional boxing.
The gathering elected Ching Kuo Wu, from Taipei China, as the associations new president and officially approved what is known as the open vote and the random election of judges and referees by using electronic means.
