The significant presence of tour-operators, travel agents, the specialized media, representatives of airlines and tourists was highlighted by Mario Ramos Alvarez, director of the Cuban Tourism Office for the Southern Cone.

Cuban Deputy Minister of Tourism Oscar Gonzalez Rios, in Argentina to participate in 2006 FIT, noted the positive results achieved by Cuba this year as a sample of what is still to be done in terms of tourism development and the promotion of the island s products.

The official remarked that his presence at the Fair responds to a Cuban Tourism Ministry decision to show appreciation for the Argentine tourist presence in Cuba.

Tourism is just another way to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange between countries based on friendship, mutual understanding and love, Gonzalez Rios stressed.

After the closing of 2006 FIT on Tuesday, the Cuban delegation will travel to Chile to continue promotional activities.
