Cuba issues personal code prepaid telephone cards for the blind
In the second half of this year, Personal Code Prepaid Telephone Cards especially designed for the blind will be issued in Cuba. This type of device was first introduced on the island in 1993; and ever since it has grown popular among Cubans. Now, the blind will enjoy its advantages as well. The Cuban National Association of the Blind has a membership of 27,000.

The new cards will be in Braille. And this first emission will have a nominal value of five Cuban Pesos. The card's credit is good for six months after the first call is made. Then, the client, in order to continue using that code which they have probably memorized, needs only to keep adding to the credit every six months, or more often, depending on how much use they make of it.
