In the frame work of the inauguration of two units of ENERGAS project in Havana, he recalled that the highest level of requirements in the country reaches 2500 mega while the potential capacity installed has already reached 3400 mega.

The country presently produces 13 percent of electricity by using gas, added Lage.

By adding two new units, power generation using gas rises to 495 mega of which 395 is through ENERGAS and another additional 100 in the thermoelectric unit East of the capital.

This potential is even higher than expectations with the first nuclear reactors in Cienfuegos or in the center of the country and has the advantage of less investment.
