Cuba is getting ready to participate in the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for which 444 athletes have already qualified.

Cuban sports officials pointed out that over the next few weeks, other athletes are expected to qualify for the regional games in wrestling, judo and diving.

As part of their training, all athletes who will compete in the Rio games have competed in at least one international tournament.

Those events include the 2nd Games of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), held in nine Venezuelan states recently.

Experts said that 268 of 322 events in competition in the Rio Games were included in the ALBA Games, at which Cuban athletes obtained good results.

From the medical point of view, no Cuban athlete has suffered serious injuries that may compromise their participation in the Rio games.
