Fields of guava, papaya, pineapple and other fruit trees in the Cuban province of Camagüey ought to increase by 1 200 hectares from now and up to the next year.

By the moment, the territory cultivates nearly 6 000 hectares of fruits, mainly mango with 110 hectares in the zone known as Forestal, in Santa Cruz del Sur.

Together with the development of new crops, the province works in the creation of fruit tree farms in all the municipalities, out of which Jimaguayú, Vertientes and Esmeralda stand out most. This venture will make possible a diversity in seeds to the local producers.
