With a 40-square-meter area in the pavilion II's six hall, Cuban tourist products are being represented by travel agencies, and national and international hotel groups working in Cuba, Carlos Oscar Hernandez, representative in Russia of the island's Tourism Ministry, stated.
"We have used this important spring display of Europe and the Russian Federation to present the Cuban product to touroperator groups interested in the flow of travelers to the island," Hernandez told Prensa Latina.
Few hours of the fair's official opening, we presented several leading travel agencies of the sector in San Petersburg, in which we deliver materials and a new tourist catalogue by "Sol y Son" and other Cuban companies, he explained.
The exhibition also included the shooting of a 30-minute video on Cuban tourist sites and an exchange among professionals of the sector from both countries.
The source stated that Cuban companies like "Cubanacan," "Sol y Son," "Cubatur," "MINTUR" and "Habaguanex" are now exhibiting their products in Krokus-Expo, while it is expected the arrival of other touroperators from the island.
According to official figures, Cuba is the main travel destination for Russia in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a sustainable growth of flow of tourists surpassing 30 percent per year.
Inturmarket's official opening is expected for Monday, with the presence of the Russian Duma (Parliament) president Boris Grizlov, the website of the Federal Tourism Agency (Rosturismo) reported.
