Salvador Repilado, son of Compay Segundo, said in a press release that the collection is formed of personal objects, instruments he used, and unpublished photographs.
His sons, together with the Cuban Culture Minister and the Cuban Music Institute, organized a rememberance program for the internationally famous musician, and there will be a fine arts exhibit called "Compay Segundo, a Hundred Years" on November 9 at the Palace of Fine Arts.
The exhibit contains works from outstanding Cuban artists such as Zaida del Rio, Eduardo Roca "Choco", Roberto Fabelo, Kcho, Sosabravo, and others.
There will also be a concert in Santiago de Cuba on November 18, and the unveiling of a monument at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery.
In December the Compay Segundo Group will tour northern Italy, in tribute to the legendary Cuban musician.
