Begins Casa de las Americas Award
After the presentation of the Jury and the opening speech of the Colombian theatre actor Santiago García, special guest of the event, will be inaugurated this Monday the Casa de las Americas Awards 2007.
In this 48th edition of the award 427 unpublished works of the letters in Latin American will vie for the award in the genres novel, theater, literature testimony, and essay of artistic literary theme.
The jury, integrated by prestigious personalities of the literary world, will hold sessions in Cienfuegos city and the awards will be delivered next January 25th.
The agenda includes a concert of the Orchestra Música Eterna on January 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in Che Guevara Ward. The orchestra will perform under the direction of Guido López Gavilán, with a repertoire ranging from Bach to Silvio Rodríguez, and Pablo Milanés.
It is also scheduled the dialogues "Roads of the Current Brazilian Literature", "A Novel without Novelists?" and "The Exercise of Criterion (or whats the reason of critics)" as well as the presentation of the issue 245 of the magazine Casa de las Americas.
