More than 400 people have registered for the 11th Sport For All World Congress, due to run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in Cuban capital Havana, the organizers told media on Monday.

The committee is hoping that some 800 researchers from sports science from some 117 nations and regions will attend the meeting.

Key sports science figures who have agreed to come include: Canada's Neil Oldridge, who works at the UnitedStates university of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Britain's Stuart Biddle, who works for the British university of Loughborough; Brazil's Victor Matsudo, who works at the Physical Aptitude Studies Investigation Center.

Also confirmed are sports organization presidents including Jacques Rogge of the International Olympic Committee; Joseph Blatter of the International Federation of Football Associations; Mustapha Larfaoui, of the International Swimming Federation; and Tomas Ajan of the International Weightlifting Federation.

The Forum will discuss 150 topics over five plenary sessions. All will be aimed at generalizing sport participation.
