The water supply in the municipality of La Habana Vieja, which has always been critical, should improve dramatically when it is finished building a 8.7 km conductor, reported the state newspaper Tribuna de La Habana.

The installation is born in the Palatino popular council, in the Cerro municipality, and will reach the intersection of Prado and Malecón.

The structure will benefit more than 91,000 residents of Old Havana, and will enable an improvement in the supply of liquid in the many hotels in the territory.

Raúl Rosel, of the Engineering Services Company of Havana, reported that work is being carried out simultaneously on five sections of the work, with the participation of three construction companies: Aguas de la Habana, Hydraulic Resources Company and ECOIN 25, of Villa Clear.

According to the official, it is being guaranteed that immediately after installing the pieces of the conductors the land will be compacted and the street will be paved.
